Being in Nature…

DR. DAN SIEGEL AND CAROLINE WELCH

Dr. Dan Siegel and Caroline Welch are big believers that being in nature is one of the best things you can do for your mental health. They also believe that exercise and movement are crucial to our health, as is meditating.

I had a chance to interview both Dr. Siegel and Caroline Welch and I think you will find their ideas and suggestions incredibly helpful, as I did.

Dr. Siegel is one of the most respected researches and writers on mental health. He is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine and the founding co-director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA. Dr. Siegel has written more than fifteen books on the developing mind and on parenting.

Together with his wife, Caroline Welch, a Juris Doctor and author of The Gift of Presence, he has created The Mindsight Institute, dedicated to examining the interface of human relationships and basic biological processes and offering practical steps to strengthening the mind while building integration.

Some books by Dr. Siegel are: Mindsight, and Brainstorm.
